There's no shortage of wellness advice out there. Cold plunges, 5am workouts, 47-step morning routines. But after years of trial and error, I've landed on a handful of habits that actually stick — and actually make a difference. No perfection required.
Start Outside
Even 10 minutes of morning light changes everything. A short walk, coffee on the porch, or a quick stretch in the yard signals to your body that the day has started. It's the simplest habit I have and the one I protect the most.
Move in a Way You Actually Enjoy
I stopped forcing myself to do workouts I dreaded. Now I hike, walk, and do yoga — and I'm more consistent than I've ever been. The best exercise is the one you'll actually do.
Eat Real Food, Most of the Time
I'm not strict about it, but I try to build meals around whole ingredients — vegetables, legumes, good protein, healthy fats. Simple meals made from real food are the foundation of how I feel day to day.
Protect Your Sleep
This one took me the longest to prioritize. A consistent bedtime, a cool room, and no screens for the last 30 minutes made a bigger difference than any supplement I've tried.
Do Less, Better
The wellness industry wants you to believe more is always more. In my experience, a few consistent habits done well beat a complicated routine done inconsistently every time. Pick two or three things and actually do them.
Wellness doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. It just has to be yours.
